I see from the Sabfoil site that the W1110 is available and selling fast . We’re not getting it in the UK until January so has anyone received theirs and got any initial impressions. Cheers guys and girls

We did get some of these W1110 wings in the UK last month but they sold out. I saw review from Facebook but not much detail.

Cheers Dave , I must have missed the first delivery.

It’d be great to get more info on Wave performance / turning / low end , etc , if anyone has any ?

I cant comment on this specific new wing.

But in general terms, I have found, that when span is over 90 cm all wings are slower.

And over 95 they are really slow turning...

Of course, flat wings, less taper less anhedrial, will turn even slower yes.

But span itself is a major parameter.

You will get awesome glide and upwind angles with high span thus usually high AR, but beware that the cost is in terms of slow dull turning.

It is somewhat a paradox, as we want lots of glide yes, but also sharp nice turning - and these are completely opposite characteristics - when you get one you lose the other.

Only way to get past this, is going smaller in total wing area, meaning higher aspect wing but still small span.
Lively and good glide - but needs speed always, thus better skills.

Sorry, I wont intrude on this very specific wing thread, but there are some major limits one can not get past, important to know, as (I think) many dont realise these restrictions and compromises you can not get past :D

Thanks for the feedback Peter, although I have the Sab W940 and that does turn pretty tight and is also reasonable fast in a straight line ( I’ve clocked 26mph )

But I agree that the W1110 is probably going to be big wide turns .

I had an opportunity to own and try the 1000 wing. Kited on it couple of times. Amazing glide, easy pumping, literally surfing 2 feet swell, hard to turn. Would be perfect for pumping, wakefoiling and for lighter folks prone surfing and winging.

I love that these fit kite fuselage which is compact and light compared to monstrosity of 749/710/700 aluminum blocks
