After switching from 82 to 72 mast the foil started to make a very annoying bird whistle. It is not that continuous high tuned whistle but repeated short noises.
Despite the mast is like new, with no imperfections and sanded both edges, I feel the subtle drag while it sings. I use it with w1000 s399. Never happened with M82.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

Thank you for the suggestion but I dont think it is a trailing edge problem. I sanded a few times and it remains but only when jibe at slow speeds and when carving rail to rail. The drag sound disappears at high speeds but increases when I slow down and point upwind. I believe its a torsion resistance from the short mast that is causing this drag problem. I even feel on my front foot the turbulence.
Stupid question... have you checked the other parts or tried switching back as a way to isolate the problem?
100% is the mast. Only changed the mast. Before it was perfectly fine.
I sanded a few times the trailing edge and just made it worse. Lots of vibration and drag during the hum.
I read somewhere that sanding it flat would make the hum go away.
Is it new or used? Did you clean it with alcohol? Does water run off it uniformly when you get it wet? Any Tefgel or other residue? Maybe sand it lightly all over and clean again. Are you sanding trailing edge with a sanding block or fingers? Do it again?
