Wow - this wingsurfing thing is catching on !

Postby Bille » Sat May 28, 2022 6:48 pm

Went to Lake Mead yesterday ; went there to see just how
low the water level was , (Yea it's Bad) !

I couldn't Believe the number of wingsurfers out in that crappy
gusty air ; and everyone was having a Blast !!!!!
I wouldn't even think about kiteboarding ; in that garbage wind.

Talked to one girl , and asked how long had she bin doing
this sport ; "it's my Second day" she answered , with a Big
giant smile on her face . :thumb:

I'm gonna need to get into this new sport ; gotta talk
someone into letting me mold their hydrofoil wing though
because I can't afford the foil and a used wing . :(

"Ugly" wind is a blast when wingfoiling, at least not a problem at all, in light winds in fact a big advantage :thumb:

Do it Bill E. Score some efoiling time first and get her going. Don’t you recognize that aircraft? Just like a little diver except with no control bar.

By the way, I am reaching out to folks who have had a great positive impact on my life and saying a heart felt thank you. You are way high on that list, so THANK YOU. The killer tandem flights, the intro to the E team, the whole hang gliding scene. Damn it was great. A true life changing gift you gave me without being a fucking creep too. Forever grateful.

Go for it Bille!! I had my 5th session this past Friday (15-18 knots) and it was a blast. My first controlled flights on the foil and my windsurf and kitesurf buddies cheered me on. I am stoked but here we are entering the summer doldrums, so I will resort to foiling behind my boat unless we get a tropical system. I'm almost 69 years old and when I saw wingsurfing I said the same thing I said when I first saw kitesurfing 22 years ago "I've got to try that before I get too old"... :D

I feel like wingsurfing will be much harder than kitesurfing with two prosthetic legs, but I’m sure that won’t stop you Bille.
