I don’t think I’ve ever seen a professional marketing spot that convinced me to buy anything. That included windsurfing in 1980, kiteboarding in 1999, and wing foiling in the summer of 2019.

In the pre internet days we saw something in person or we saw it in a magazine. Now of course, we are barraged with targeted ads every second we are on line based on off line conversations!

FWIW I saw a video of Alan Cadiz wing foiling on July 4th, 2019 (you can still find it on You Tube). He was just winging in flat water doing these ultra smooth jibes and tacks. Despite the kite board/kite foil community basically poo-pooing wing foiling at the time, I had my first wing foil rig by Sept 2019, and haven’t looked back. It’s great to have wind sport options!!

This reads more like a rant than a discussion starter. Kite foiling is fun, wingfoiling is fun and growing faster than whatever hype you think might be driving it. Nobody is waiting for you to make up your mind… nobody is twisting your arm. ✌🏼 do what makes you happy, but take your raincloud with you….
Or you can start a wingy thingy forum for inferior wind sports...lol

I still go to IWINDSURF.com on a regular basis and have noticed there is always a winger image on the homepage, not a windsurfer.

The twintip argument is valid...
As you need to be a kiteboarder to start kite hydrofoiling.
With wingfoil people say you can jump right into it.
In all, at least travel wise, I fell:
Restrictions for kite hydrofoiling are similar to twintip...
Restrictions for winging are more similar to windsurf...
