This video was over a year ago in winds I’m guessing around 9-13 knots in Florida ( you can make your own judgement call on wind strength). I’d call it my low wind winging limit while still able to have some fun doing most moves. I could have easily kitefoiled with my 10m Airush Ultra that day. 78 kg, 6m Echo, Gong Veloce XXL (1900 sq cm, 107 cm), 90l board. This foil has a very thin profile for its size! (I think it’s a critical parameter foilers still tend to ignore). You can even see me riding next to a kite foiler for a few moments.
The Veloce XXL made a huge difference in my ability to tack on foil in these winds. I tried to ride my Veloce XL (1500 sq cm) the same session and it was very challenging! I would not try to wing in winds lighter than this, but I still own and wing with that Veloce XXL on days like this, now with a 75 liter board and a 6m SLS Slick . My Veloce LT (1340 sq cm, 90cm) is my current daily driver with winds over ~13 knots
