Has anyone tried the Gong Mint 5.0 or 5.2? 105 litres and 120 litres respectively would be my first board to start and progress.
I don't plan to stop kitefoiling, just sailing in places and winds difficult for kitefoiling. I weight 85kg.
Is it Sabfoil w1100 fast enough? I don't want to struggle with advanced foils to start just want to get something similar to what w633 means in kitefoiling and stay thare.
Can I ask mas for your advice in regards to my Wingfoil setup? it is Mint related, so I will use this topic if it s ok.Peter_Frank wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 9:51 pmThe W1100 is great for learning
But will get too big later, it is 2100 cm2.
You will want wings around 1000 to 1500 cm2 then, at your weight.

And what about the windrange?will the lowend be affected when changing from XL X-over to L-fluid/LCurve? From how many knots would you say i could reallistically start, given my weight (63 kg) and a 5 m wing?Peter_Frank wrote: ↑Tue Sep 27, 2022 9:09 pmI would get a Fluid L-T foilwing instead, a much better wing better glide and size, otherwise good choices.
The X-Over is way way too big and draggy for you (and most heavier than your 63 kg), and will never be able to glide on a wave either.
Supereasy to learn the first couple of rides, but then nothing happens, draggy and lifts too much.
The Curve is also a bit too draggy and low aspect IMO, but a much better foilwing, and the fastest turning one.
But go with the Fluid L-T which feels like 1250 cm2, perfect for you now and in the future
