Wasn’t the wave masters in Ireland a pretend wing event?
4 events is better than nothing and more than what you suggested? It’s also more than the bksa managed? One hastily scheduled event in Portland for kite freestyle.
As for multiple disciplines? You think it needs fragmenting even more? Look how fucked kiting is now, one wave event /holiday to Ireland, one freestyle event and handed all the racing to the RYA.
No wonder the UkWA fucked it all off and did their own thing.
I’m not saying anything against or bad about the ukwa I think it’s great they put slalom events on. (I would have come to some if they weren’t so far away or had better forecasts)
Unlike bksa who should be ashamed at what they put on in Ireland!
I simply answered the original question which was ‘why no uk people on world tour ‘which is no events.
This is the same for kiting unfortunately and when I question the authority’s they say there is no funding for Watersports in the uk.
I asked ukwa if they will run wing freestyle and wave events and they said they are not interested in running judging based events.
It’s a shame as without a good uk comp scene how can people step onto the world stage?
