Postby MaximumAC » Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:56 pm

Looking for a used/cheap zeeko baseplate to mount my slingshot mast onto a Shinn El Stubbo. Anybody?

Rare as hens teeth not cheap and mast holes in the wrong places. So instead, $65 gets you a slingshot plate and you can “adjust” the plate-to-board holes to fit the shinn board.
“Why drill or mill 4 holes instead of 2 or 3?” you might ask.
Because low precision is required for the holes that hold plate to board and there are more of them. The zeeko plate, besides being expensive, mostly have no collar.
So the holes to attach the mast to zeeko plate have to be exact. Zeeko also recommends never ro dissassemble the mast from the plate, to avoid acrewing it up.

The Slingy plate has a collar, fits the mast, and is cheap and common as dirt. Anyone with a drill press or a patient and careful hand drill operator can adjust the plate to board screw holes. Rat tail file would come in handy also. Good luck.

That was an oddly thorough response, thank you! No sooner did I post that than I realized I could drill out my SS baseplate. The conundrum now though is that it I can only use one position on the stabilizer. I guess I can drill out the original rear holes to make them larger and further back.

to be precise all our plates have now a collar, the last one without a collar was the White&Green plate form 2016/17

The Blaster plate is compatible with all Zeeko alloy masts (except the Bullet mast which has a thinner profile) and the price is comparable to other brands.
