Guys, thank you so much for your help! I already love this community!
Well, i just discovered that i can buy brand new kite but older model. Like i found brand new 12m 2019 Karbinha with 2019 bar for $1380. so i guess i'll better save some money and go this way than try my luck to avoid scammers or some hidden problem with used kite. i mean this my first gear so i'm not experienced on how to choose a good used kite
Yes. On that budget, you can go new. You won't feel any difference between a 2019 and a 2021 year model.
Be careful with the model you choose though. What Cabrinha model did you find? Study the different types of kites and decide which suits you better before buying. Basically, a kite can be
- Freestyle (for tricks and unhooked riding)
- Freeride (usually stable, go well upwind, jumps well)
- Wave (more depower and drifts better down the wind; some times they don't go upwind very well)
- Racing
- All around (a kite in the middle that does relatively well in all areas)
- Learning / beginners. (Easier to fly and relaunch)
I would say you should stay away from Freestyle kites. Probably the best option would be an All Around kite, or a freeride kite.
