Postby bristolnige » Wed Jul 28, 2021 4:21 pm

Hey all.
I hoped to get into kite boarding but now at 62 with a limppy hip I realise its to late for me and have a completey unused set of everything you need to kite surf.
It all cost £2000 new a good 10 years ago now.
Id like to sell it to someone that would enjoy it.
Please call or email me thanks

Hi. I hate to tell you that this kit is old and outdated and it's really not worth anything.... well somebody might pay £20 for the lines to use on a newer bar... Or perhaps use the kite ripstop fabric to make a beanbag.

The Gath helmet and seat harness might be worth £20 each.

If someone is serious about learning to kitesurf on a small budget then even with £200 to £300 they could pick-up more modern used gear from a few years ago that is more up-to-date, safer and easier to learn on than this.

The other concern is that of you sell it for a very cheap price or give it away for free then somebody with no understanding about kitesurfong safety could buy it and seriously hurt or kill themselves.

Sorry to break the bad news but best to tell it how it is

The most recent Peter Lynn Guerilla v2 was from 2004, so I have to be with Dave that this is only worth scrap value unless you find the right sentimental old guy, but even then worth only a handful of bucks.

NEVER EVER sell it to a beginner please!

You guys are full of crap. PL ram air / arc kites are one of the most safest and easiest kites to learn on. I've taught on a Venom II 16m to foil riders, and they love that the kite's auto-zenith allows them to relax more, control the board more and have better stance ready before diving the kite. I had one 12 yo ride it in 15knots (being a C foil kite it can take winds well over 20knots), and this young gun started foiling after 2 lessons!! All this IKO rubbish about *you have to have the latest and greatest* is all market spin, for the sake of $$$. With the right patience, dedication and safety, PL arc kites are a great way to teach foiling. But is anyone other than Alex and I doing this? Nah... *pussies*
I think I should bring Alex into this thread.

Wasn't going to bother responding, but as a regular Arc user (still :) ), I have to agree with Northern.

...so easy, so stable, total flag out on the safety. I am teaching my girls on a 2003 PL Bomba prototype, and they love it. The early kite & board handling mess is so easy these kites. Agree with other observations on the quick release (especially) and lines (if they have had UV exposure or wear).

My 2c.
