Nate. Went down to Snow Mesa Monday, the trail has NOT been groomed this year but has had some previous activity, it now has my snowmobile track up and back. The snow up top was thin in some places and getting wind scoured. Some of the blow overs were nice and soft though. Had some good wind in the afternoon, the forecast was for 15-20 gusts to 30 and that was pretty accurate. If there is a good forecast for the weekend of the 27th I will probably try to make it down for at least one day. I didn't go over to Jarose yesterday but it might have some softer snow.

Well, our family ditched winter, covid, and school last year in La Ventana and had a muy buen tiempo. This year we are back for all three. In southwest Colorado, it turned into winter very quickly over the holidays after a prolonged fall. It is great to be back in the powder!
Grand Mesa has 5' snow sitting in the parking lot! Lizard Head has excellent deep coverage as well. Crystal Reservoir has the normal soft snow and a little slush. Above treeline MacMillan is rideable but is heavily wind-scoured and pretty thin with lots of grass and rocks still waiting to take out your ski bases or knees. I hear that it's deeper at Molas Pass and maybe Lemon?
Our family is finishing up a round of Omicron then I look forward to some fun kite adventures this winter. Lmk if you guys see some good forecasts in the area.
As usual, I'd like to extend an invitation to any travelling kiters to crash in our mother-in-law studio in Ridgway.
Cheers, Matt

Yes - this is the time of year I start getting itchy to get into the snow - and still have a couple of months to go, lol

I've had the one-piece storm suit on a couple of times already, just walking around house. Because, you know, gotta make sure stuff is ready to go.

[im]Patiently waiting...

Any suggestions on who might be able to tune/repair a foil kite, please? I have an Ozone Access that got caught in a REALLY strong gust while attached to an anchor (let's not talk about it...). The kite now pulls to one side.

If I recall, I checked the bar lines, and they seemed to be equal length. I might have even tried putting a pigtail on the back line to try to correct, but it still flies funny. I like the kite and would love to have it back in the rotation, but the repair might be over my head (I don't even know what needs repairing).

Who would you contact to get it back in shape, please?

Thanks, and happy kiting!

soplo: If you want to send your kite off to professionals, I suggest Prokitesurf in Corpus Christi, TX as they are very able to get your kite flying with even, balanced condition. 361 - 833 - 1473.

soplo, I agree with Noah regarding Prokitesurf. They're a very knowledgeable outfit. A closer resource is nate76. He's in the Colorado Springs area and he's an expert with foil kites. If he has the time to assist you, I think he'd be able to fix the issues with your foil kite. Good luck.

Hey Steve, thanks for the kind words but I don't do kite repairs. I've always used fixmykite.com for kite repairs and they've been great. I think that is actually the same company Noah and Steve are referring to, just by a different url.

Good Luck!

You're right Nate. fixmykite.com is the same outfit as Prokitesurf and kiteboarding.com in Corpus Christi, Texas. Just different divisions of the same company. I think that fixmykite.com is their repair division, Prokitesurf is their production division (they design and produce quite a few items under their own name) and kiteboarding.com is their retail division. Wasn't sure if you did kite repairs or not. Just know that you're very knowledgeable about foil kites. Thanks for letting me know that you don't do repairs.
