CKB kitelandboard Deck / Alternatives

Postby tizzleberg » Sat May 23, 2020 11:39 pm

Hello, i was wondering if anyone has a CustomKiteBoard Deck for sale or knows where i can get one? Since Paul doesnt seem to be making them anymore.
Or does anyone have good alternatives for a very light Kitelandboard Deck?
Thanks

Never thought I’d see CKB mentioned on kiteforum!

I have two, that I got 10 years ago, absolutely amazing workmanship

I’m guessing you know about Trampa boards? They’re the only alternative really And they’re pretty customisable, but obviously they’re not carbon and not as thin and light

Yeah i know Trampa but they sadly dont really compare. With their weight i might aswell stick with my Pro 90.

i have a nice collection of carbon decks , ckb LB03,the third deck paul made ,a shortdeck and LB77,a slightly longer thinner deck, with a central rib built into the bottom l and a late d-ex , i've recently been sorting out my kite room so i can go staight to stuff, rather than f*** and fart about looking for stuff, like i was before
and i still have 4 sets of twiststars still in working order , mbs stopped making them cause people were very clumbsy in how they used these wheels -bolt them on before you pump them up, i got my mate to machine me some alloy base plts , as i had a habit of breaking the crappy cast ones and he made me a pair of titanium ones, (which i then drilled out to remove more material) base plts for LB77 and i used titanium bolts and nuts where i could on all 3 boards , and i know paul hartland quite well and he made me some carbon footstrap brackets, enough for all the decks i had
my intent was to make them as light as possible-i even used heavy webbing for the strap rather than those heavy footstraps with adjustable brackets on
the D-EX is under 5 kilos ,and the lightest but there isn't much in it between them , they are my pride and joy , and i have spent many years collecting - i'm really good at buying stuff but not selling it -that is why i desperately needed some order and tidyness .

Hi tizzleberg I might be able to help you out

Are you looking for a carbon blank to shape yourself or a finished board?

And follow up questions:
how stiff a board are you after?
what type and brand trucks do you run?
