Snowkite harness options?

Hey wind junkies!

Does anybody know of snowkite harness options aside from Ozone? I use an Ozone Connect Pro but it's a tad large for my wife. I have mine cranked down about as small as it will go for myself in full winter gear at 5'8" 158lbs. She certainly needs something smaller for her tiny frame. Does anybody else produce snow(land) specific harnesses that are comparable to the Ozone? Perhaps Flysurfer? HQ4? GIN? Peter Lynn?

I'd love to pick up a harness for her B-Day coming up. Let me know if you guys think of anything?

Quite a few of us are using climbing harness for snowkiting. Lightweight, unobtrusive for the access walks, reliable,... (I'm using the Black Diamond Momentum). So maybe that gives you more options to explore

From the top of my head; look for Dakine or Mystic brands, you might find female harness models.

If you go the climbing harness root, look at the harnesses on the link provided by Dave above. You will see that the Vario Speed harness has a different design of carabineer loop. This type of design is easier to combine with a waist harness as the loop goes over the hook without twisting. They are ok by themselves if the kite is high most of the time but if you are working the kite low it is nice to have the waist harness as well imho.

That Vario model has very little padding, and while it is a good addition to a waist harness for safety in flight, it probably is a bit rough by itself. Some of their other models have much more padding around the waist for standalone usage.

Bragnoeff makes a good point with regard to padding in the Vario Speed harness. But that also raises another important point, it is worth considering if you want to combine a harness with crash protection. Perhaps a set of crash shorts for X-mas? There has also been a thread on back protection.

Sadly I can't make any specific recommendations because it is a long time since I have purchased a harness. I was only highlighting the above harness to illustrate the different designs of carabineer loop.

A climbing harness by itself isn't comfortable for me after 10 minutes. No spreader bar and the lower back support is narrow and not padded adequately. Mystic makes (or used to make) a waist harness with optional leg straps that works well for snowkiting. It's funny that Ozone makes only one size for the Connect Pro.
