Hi All,
I'm heading to Utah next weekend. Based on SNOWTEL sites things look pretty desperate in Utah (50% YTD snowpack). Wondering if there is enough snow to kite and if so where.
Thanks

Hopefully fernmanus chimes in with the report on the ground, but I have been hearing from locals that skyline works right now. And these are the ideal thin conditions since most of the slednecks will stay further north and leave the place all to us.
I actually had a couple years where I missed the good quiet time, because I didn't think there was enough snow. My philosophy on it now is that it's good to go anytime after the first of the year.
But strawberry (Heber), is more fickle, needing new snow more often. So make sure you have the option to drive to skyline.

Skyline is riding great but strawberry is just the lake with a few inches on it. This next storm might make strawberry good but we will see. Still low tide around here.

No coverage at Strawberry river, chicken creek, co-op creek? How about ice thickness?
And watch the weather up at skyline. White out is no go up there. Usually if it is snowing everywhere, Strawberry still works. There are a few alternative spots up at skyline a bit lower to get out of the clouds, but make sure you can get completely off the road or you will get a ticket.

The river is barely rideable but the ice is good at strawberry.
