Tested a G-arcII 7.5

Postby warssie » Mon Mar 22, 2004 5:17 pm

This weekend(20-21 March) we had a Testweekend, possibilty to test the G-arcII, Bomba, GK Lift2, GK Curl and Underground boards.
It was blowing 30-40kn al weekend, so no testing. At the end of the day(sunday) I lauched my GK LIFT 9m, I was overpowered but in control. I was asked to give the G-arcII a try, I never flown a foil before so timing and feel are way off.

Also, this was only a prototype so the final product may be a bit different.

Here it goes...

Riders weight:: 60kg
Kite:: G-arcII 7.5 (prototype)
Board:: Catapult Science 118*39.5
Wind:: 28-35kn, a peak measured of 40kn
Sea:: a LOT of wave's, more then normal, of course becaus of the windstrength

Ready to launch...

I was prepared for a lot of power but the kite was very controlable

On land it felt nice and stable. The water was pretty high so I had to launch were it was quit gusty, kite was nice and solid all the time

I had a lot of fun in te waves with this kite, normally I really suck when trying to catch one but now I did some nice bottem turns and off the lips, I was surprised :lol:

I also made a few floaty airs, but I only hit the sweet spot ones, my time was wrong wrong wrong... :oops:

The depower was really good as well, never felt overpowered :thumb:

My impression, very nice kite, but I have to get used to it if I wonna make bigger airs.
I'm gonna keep my GK's, I'm more a tubekiters then a foilkiter

Have fun
Sam
