thinking of buying a nobile 555 134cm and a nobile 666 ext 139 cm for lighter wind. I weigh 176 lbs

anybody ridden these boards and could offer your opinion. they are pretty expensive and I dont want to make a mistake... thanks a ton

I have ridden 2008 666 ext 46 cm wide and that was very positive board. early planing, no spraying, easy to drive, handles chop well, very good upwind. Best factory made light wind board I have tried. Friend of mine had both 2008 and 2009 models and they look excatly same. 2009 has assy outline.

2009 555 is acc to german mag (both mags) tests good in upwind and early planing but sprays water to your face and not good in strong winds.

With ext you can not go wrong

I had the Nobile 666 2008 and 2009 in 132 and 131 Its and exelent board, but I think Im starting to hate the straps and pads, quiet uncornftable.

I have 555 2008 137x42, but I'm 90+ kg (around 205 lbs). Nice and easy board, very comfortable in chop. Goes upwind better and has better lowend than my previous bigger Cabrinha Prodigy 148x40. With my weight maintains good control also in stronger winds (but I haven't used it in more than 30 knots)

The 2008 Nobile 555 is an awesome all round board which almost every level of rider can appreciate due to the performance and forgiveness offered.
Pros:
- Goes upwind exceptionally well
- Has a fast rocker which allow the boards to get going in very light winds.
- Has a very forgiving amount of flex and dampening which make for a very smooth ride. A big plus for the rider with knee issues.
- The board edges exceptionally well which can be appreciated for the rider who unhooks and wants plenty of pop, wants to boost huge, and the beginner/intermediate who is looking to fly upwind. The impressive edging of the 555 allows the board to bite into very sloppy chop , rather than skip and lose an edge. High winds 30knots + are a breeze with the 555 as it edges so so well.
- Exceptional board construction and strength.

Cons:
- All boards in sloppy/choppy conditions will produce some level of spray therefore the 555 does produce spray when in these types of conditions. If you ride in flat water, the spray is almost non existent.
- The standard IFS straps/pads are fine in that they are comfortable and easy to use. I wouldnt say that they are a top of the line strap/pad combo, but if that is what you want there are other options available such as the Nobile IFS PRO, Cabrinha Syncs or LF pads.
- Light weight riders might prefer slightly smaller fins to the standard 55mm fins.


In my opinion you have picked a great size 555 as this will complement your weight (176lbs) and give you a very wide riding range.. possibly the other choice for you in the 555 range would be the 131*40. With the 134, the low end will be possibly 13/14 knots when combined with a 12m bow kite (assuming you are at least at the intermediate level) and the high end really depends on your skill and kite sizes.

I think it is a tough call between the EXT 139 and 143 for you. I think the last thing you want to do is buy a board which will overlap too much with the board you mainly use which lets say is the 555 134 which does have a very fast rocker and great in low winds. The smaller EXT 139 from a jumping/tricks stand point will be more enjoyable, but the larger EXT143 will be more fun when the wind becomes really light and you need to coast through those holes in the wind.
In my opinion you should choose the EXT board 2nd unless you are a beginner/early intermediate whereby having the larger high performance board will allow you to progress extremely fast and allow those real light wind days to be more fun as you will have more surface area to keep you skimming along.

In my opinion you will be very impressed with the Nobile boards.

I got the 139 EXT 666 and love it. I'm 185 lbs and I've ridden it everywhere from 12 to 25 knots. Great board, cruises upwind.
