Shinn King G 2015

Postby ktflyer381 » Sun Jul 26, 2015 1:49 am

I have been kiting for 10 yrs and do a bit of everything from waves to basic unhooked moves. I have a Shinn Monk Forever 134x42 that is the best board I have ever ridden and I have a Cabrinha Squad 6'1" that I use for waves. I have also been using the Squad for light wind, but around here there aren't any waves when the wind is light so it gets pretty dull. I have tried a couple of door boards, they go in light winds but they aren't for me. I have also tried an Airush Sector, it also goes well in light winds but isn't for me.

I was out a couple of weeks ago and didn't even rig as the wind was 9-10 knots with the occasional gust a bit higher. My friend let me have a go on his 2014 Cabrinha SB 12m with his 2013 King George 146x46. Not only could I stay upwind but I could get some rolls with grabs and the board wasn't sticking to the water like a lot of other light wind boards.

Yesterday I picked up a brand new King Gee 146x46 and today I got to try it in 10 knots of wind with lulls a bit less and gusts maybe to 12 knots, but not very often. I was using my 2015 Cab SB 12m and was able to stay upwind the whole time. Even got front roll downlooping transitions all afternoon. The board was super smooth, held an edge without sliding out like the door boards and jumped without sticking at all. Footpads are great, even though they were brand new. I have been underwhelmed with the boards I have tried lately, but this one is a great addition to my quiver. I would highly recommend.
