Ride Engine Harness Video Review: tips and tricks

Postby IanNJ » Mon Oct 05, 2015 1:40 am

This is a pretty complete review of the stuff the manufacture will not tell you. Sizing, dry suit fit, Jaybar compatibility. Recall aka Tech Bulletin fix...also some other interesting stuff. It was tested in 30+mph in monster waves so we got a good idea this little puppy. Check it out.

Good video!

You mention something like "we had an issue with the side permanently adjusted - open up on us" which I presume meant that the strap slipped through the buckle (on the left hand side)?

Is this because the straps and retaining buckles are not up to the forces and loads that are put on them from a kite?

Your solution was to double back through the buckle with the tail of the strap which would stop it from slipping - which is fine on the left hand side.

My question is - what about the other side of the harness which has exactly the same set-up with strap and buckle?

Once the harness has been tightened - it would surely be impossible to double back through the buckle with the tail of the strap - on this (the right hand) side?

Is this a safety issue?
