Injuries that could have been prevented...

Postby Wayward son » Thu Jul 31, 2003 10:56 pm

Ever had that feeling that somebody's sitting on your chest, hurts to breathe and feeling very sore when ever you twist, turn or move your ribs?
This is the result after not having my harness done up tight enough and the bar coming in contact with my ribs. The crash that caused it didn't feel like anything special at the time just a slight push in the ribs as I went over the front of my board.
So now I have to take it easy for a few weeks to let the Cartilage between my ribs grow back...

I hurt myself like this recently... my Dakine Fusion harness was a bit loose and I squashed a stomach muscle between my spreader bar and a rib.

In true extremem sport style, I got back on the water before giving it chance to heal properly and now it hurts all the time!

It's gonna be one of those injuries that is still there when I'm 60... I just know it.
