ZANZIBAR KITESURF REPORT
Zanzibar Island, is about 100 km from Tanzania in the Indian Ocean.
It has revealed itself to me like a paradise of Sun, bright white beaches, and very hot water of a turquoise color, filled with severals perfect spots to kitesurf.
In particular on the north/East coast, the beach of Kiwangua, known as one of the six most beautiful beaches on the planet…
…were the most important Tour Operator have opened big and beauty Hotels and beach resorts with the distintive parched palms roofs.
During my 7 day holiday in the second week of december, the wind has never blown below 13 knots. In the morning it blows from the left N/E and the water is flat for 900 meters till you reach the reef .it is a little more choppy during the high tide.
The wind was constantly and it was from 13 to 18 knots
Only after 2/3 hours kiting, when the tide is quite at the top, the water start to be really choppy and the control of the board need more attention.
During some boat trips I’ve seen many other wonderful spots.
But I haven’t seen yet a kite center or school, so you can imagine there are no rescue boats in need
