i am going to cuba in february.
have heard a lot of good things about varadero. does anyone know a cheap place to stay in that area?

Although I usually hate them, I have always stayed in All-inclusive hotels in Varadero. But Varadero is full of other options. You might have to stay in a more expensive hotel the first night, and then look and ask around for a better deal. A friend of mine just got back and had 20 knot wind every day! But it can be pretty cool that time of the year (24-25 degrees, with wind factor feels like 20) , so bring a shorty at least.
