Sth American Kiting Tour

Postby coley11 » Sat Sep 12, 2009 3:23 am

Hey Guys,
I've done a fair bit of research and i've pretty much decided on the following:

My plan at this stage for 2010 is:
JAN - MAR Uruguay, Punte Del Este
MAR - JUN Peru, Paracas and Mancora
JUN - SEP Ecuador, Manta
SEP - ??? Depends if i still have $$ by this stage!

My intentions are:
-Kite as often as i can
-Learn spanish (thats why im prob not going to Brazil)
-Live on a fairly tight budget
-Stay in places with a bit of night life but are also situated right on the beach....

Can anyone make any non commercial recommendations to my above itineray, that would be mighty helpfull.....Any help/advice will be appreciated.

Cheers in advance... Coley.

Hey Coley:

Good idea, youll have tons of fun for sure. Defenetly March and April are good for Paracas, May Jun are great for Mancora as since the second or third week of may until Jul the wind just sucks in Paracas we get to ride only 4 or sometimes even only 3 days a week.
There is a hotel right there at the beach in Paracas for low budget with incredible view and very clean rooms, the name is Zarcillo, Im sure Ill be able to get you a deal (somewhere 300 bucks a month) for you to stay... but if this is to much a bit further you might get cheaper places if that is what you want, in Mancora my associates john Jairo and Skip will be able to help you as much is needed, so no need to plan so far as budget hotels are all over and no need to stress about.

If you need any help on plannig your Ecuador trip I can help you out. I work in one of the kite schools.
June should be great wind down here!

I can also tell you lake Calima in Colombia has great wind and is not too far once you are in Ecuador.
