Thanks speedyrider. What kite size is good for puerto? I'm 75kg.

Is there rescue at the less gust part if puerto incase my kite explodes and I get dragged offshore?

Any other nice spots you have visited in Colombia?

no nightlife there, for that go to barranquilla 20 minutes away.

in the offshore side at the end we usually do downwinders from the main launching area, you are on your own or with another kiters. in the launching area is safer just dont go out too far and if problems they can rescue you.

i weight as you and usually its 9m during the season, with some 7m days. In offseason its lighter i heard. Season starts in december to april aproximately. before you can have some days.

Velero is the windiest place along cabo de la vela in all the coast. sometimes its windy only there and not in cartagena for example.

ive been to cartagena, rosario islands, cabo de la vela, puerto velero and around (santa veronica, etc), san andres and thats it. San andres and cabo really good. cartagena less windy but constant. choppy and small wave and flat in the "laguito" spot (side-off). Velero is gusty as f*** but flat to small choppy, good waves outside.

Near barranquilla and velero you have some wave spots and downwinds you can do if you like that. you can start at Salgar and go downwind to puerto velero, or beyond, like santa veronica. Its nice downwind to do on a surfboard.

Contact David at kiyakite in Barranquilla, he will help you a lot, dont forget to say hello from David from spain https://www.facebook.com/kiyakite.surfing
