Antigua, where to stay?

Hi!
I´m looking for advice on where to stay in Antigua, we are going there dec 2018-jan 2019 for 3 weeks.
When I look at booking and airbnb there is a lot of expensive places but I guess there must be some good alternatives. The plan is to start simple and perhaps have second part of the trip in an more expensive place. Most of us don´t kite so we don´t need a place near a kitesurfingbeach, rather a kids friendly beach.
Any advice?
