San Francisco Bay Area in October

Postby esignoretti » Mon Sep 17, 2018 8:35 pm

I'll be traveling for work in the US next October, with a stop in San Francisco for the weekend of 13/14.

I was planning to bring a travel/split TT and a kite with me or rent something at a local kite school/shop for the day.

how is the wind/weather in that season?
suggestions for good spots? (flat water or choppy - I'll have a car) - And would be helpful to know if I can rent equipment for one day or two at that spot. :cool2:

thanks a lot for all the info you will share.

October is the end of the season and you can't really count on much/ it's a crap shoot/ could be crazy storm wind.

No one in the Bay Area will rent a kite, but Boardsports will demo boards at Alameda, and Coyote Point.

What sort of riding are you looking to do?

Thank you for your comment

I guessed it isn’t the right time, but that’s what I have to work with at the moment.

I usually ride free ride gear from Flysurfer or Slingshot.

Yeah if you're just looking to cruise around, any spot in the Bay will do. But the chance of getting a good day in October is low :/

not sure it’s worth bringing gear in October ...if you have ikitesurf you can check the human forecast before you come to see if it’s worth packing gear.
