Should I bring my kitegear to Mexico? Going there in January. Holbox and Tulum. Was planing to bring my gear, but the will have to pay about 350USD for my kitegear on the flights, as we are flying first to Florida for a visit there before going to Mexico.

You will miss beautiful rides...I have been in Holbox and it's a beaury to right there. Tulum looks good too.
Wind should be good at this time of the year.
Whats 350 bucks if you can have a nice session in blue and warm waters? Assuming you are from a colder region...
And FL also gets some wind this time of the year...

Hey ! I'm currently working the season as a kite Instructor on Holbox Island , wind has been just amazing the past month and it only gets better . The school I'm working for uses Ozone kites that rent all gear for 90usd a day or for longer periods they do a deal . If this is helpful let me know, otherwise see you on Holbox
If you need any info send a message your gonna love the spot it's amazing

The bigger the better. Winds shouldn't be that strong

Yeah we mostly use 12m & 14m here at the beach , when wind picks up then a 9m is good I've used my 9m about 4times this month then everything else is big kites.
A other option which may help is to just pack the kites o took my two kites on the plane in a single carry on bag , then just rent a board when your here its only 30usd , might be the best option for you
