Fuerteventura beginning of September kite sizes?

Postby sergei Scotland » Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:43 pm

Going to Flag beach beginning of September. Last year was in lanzarote the same time and a lot days were 12mph wind, so a 12m was not enough.
Should I take 12 and 17 to the Flag beach or 10+12? I am 95 kg, so my main kite is usually 12 and works for me up to about 24 mph steady wind. I am a beginner just learned to stay upwind more or less.
My 17 is rated 10-15 knots for a beginner, so might be useful?

I guess Flag beach has generally more wind than North of Lanzarote or is it not true?
Ta.

I would go for 10 and 17. Las Cucharas has more wind than flag beach imho. I have been at both locations several times.
Size difference between 10 and 12 not enough..
Have fun!

Bring a good range of kites to cover everything from 10 to 30 knots. The Trade winds typically start to die off in September and we basically get what we get depending on the weather.

Thanks for confirmation that a 17 is a good idea for fb, I was not sure if it worth it..

Thanks very much Gunnar, appreciated. I will try to get 10 as well. This will cover me to about 28 knots. Just realized that Thomas Cook seems to allow 30kg for kitesurfing, so I might be able to bring 3 kites after all :-)
