Carriacou

Postby Grizwald » Tue Nov 17, 2020 5:42 pm

Does anyone have any information re kiting in Carriacou?
When I was in Grenada the locals all told me that Carriacou was the place to go but spots doesn't even list a beach for the whole island. I very vaguely remember reading about a B&B on a beach owned by a kiter but I can't find anything to dispel my growing sense that I imagined the whole thing.
There are some very old posts on the forum by nothing in the last five years.

Second question: Can anyone recommend a sailing / kiting trip that would be acceptable to a wife that doesn't kite and a kiter with the skill level of a mollusk? Wife likes to snorkel in safe areas. We have a moderate amount of sailing experience.

thx

Bonaire is great IF you pay the kite school at the one beach there, Atlantis, for a rescue in advance. It's off-shore wind. You can pay up front for a rescue at a heavily discounted price, OR they will motor out to you if you need a rescue for A LOT MORE. Snorkeling there is off the charts, as is the kick back vibe of the island. Scuba is amazing as well, of course.

FLAT water, off-shore butter wind and water.
