Hyeres France - best season?

Postby tkaraszewski » Fri May 14, 2021 5:20 pm

I’m contemplating a trip to the south of France in September or October and wondering about wind. I primarily hydrofoil with race equipment, so 12 knots or more is plenty for me to kite. Is there wind in this area this time of year? Is the water still pretty warm? Thanks.

Yes there is often more than 12 knots at that season. Water is still warm indeed.
You can have either on shore ir offshore conditions. There are 3 spots where you can choose to be only onshore if you want. But offshore at Almaarre is a real dream visually and flat water

September is a great season ! Warm water and air and not as busy as July/August.
I'll gladly show you around my home spot :)

I agree. In September the weather is perfect - it is still warm, the water has not had time to cool down, but the sun is no longer baking.

Great place for wind addicts for sure .
Watch out on the parking spot , there is some safety issues regarding kiters cars ...

Have a look in Beauduc in case there is no wind in Almanarre :)

In the south of France in September, the water is still warm, although a lot depends on the weather. If autumn is cold, then the water cools down quickly.
