two things:
1. from what I know winter season are afternoon thermics there, so actually it overlaps with London business hours (summer season, when it blows 24/7, is actually quite good for working in european hours - just as you suggested, kiting in the morning, then working from noon Sri Lanka time - I actually had tickets to go there summer '20, but cancelled bcoz of CoVid)
1a.these thermics are also quite light I've heard..... 15-17knots max I've heard, which isn't much for me (95 kgs + 14M biggest kite). 17knots (on flat) is only starting getting real fun, 18-19 would be perfect
2. I've read (I may be wrong, not checking updates much bcoz of factor #1) Sri Lankan tourism is opening very slowly... just some hotels allowed etc, I doubt places at Kalpityia are on the list
