Probably been asked a million times but I can't seem to find answer on this forum.
Planning a trip. What are chances we will kite everyday in Jeri, Brazil during the last two weeks of January?
It is a long way to go from Canada if we get skunked.

Can be awesome, can be bad.
Hard to predict.
Last year daily perfect wind, this year once a week...

I'll borrow this thread: I've planned to go to NE Brazil in November.
1) What is the best way to get a taxi to Jericoacoara from Fortaleza. Booking it from the pousada you'll gonna stay? Or take uber from the airport?
2) Do they sell prepaid sim cards at Fortaleza-Pinto Martins airport?
3) Is there any worth to visit kitespots between taiba and ilha do guajiru?

I don’t think Uber goes there.
Yes, ask your pousada, they have trustworthy drivers.
Try to team up by asking the Pousada if someone else arrives same flight.
Paracuru is a great spot not to miss. Check the spots section on here to get more info.
Maybe the farms is sells SIM. Maybe also ask your Pousada if they can arrange one before…and if they can activate it (you need a Brazilian CPF/tax number to activate it.

I'm in jeri now
First of all this season has been the worst in terms of saragossa, its been 2 months here and hasnt cleared up. Its also in guriu and tatajuba but not as bad.
To kite from jeri you need to take a buggy, at least 10$ a day
Idk about sim card. Withdraw cash as there is no atm here and to take a buggy to kite you pay the driver in cash.
Wind has been daily here for a 7-9
I havent swam in the sea in jeri one time since arriving 15 days ago. Be warned the saragossa situation is really awful in prea jeri. Writing this also for people in the future that want to check this spot out.. not worth it if you dont want to spend money every time you want to go kite. Nightlife here is good for those looking for it. Food is decent
Best way to get to jeri/prea is shared shuttle, ask the poussada they will give you their driver of choice, pickup from airport or fortaleza to your hotel for 200 or 250 r if you go with kite gear

This September is weaker than normal.
I assume the season will not be good. Worst months in my experience since I know.
I won't bet on it, but I think from mid December on it will be light wind...Jeri should be a bit better, but don't expect 25+ knots.
Of course, I could be totally wrong, but what we had the past months doesn't look like a strong season at all.
We even had little rain today in Cumbuco...normally you don't even see one cloud in September...and we have a lot of them almost daily...

strange. nothing around Cumbuco.
seaweed is a sigh that rainy season is coming, but normally comes only end of December or January...

Is even in guriu. But not as bad. Just makes the water smelly..
Toby im guessing youre bummed about your season in cumbuco.. i know i was when the season in cabarete never arrived.
But here in jeri since i arrived 25 aug its been blowing every day for a 9m atleast
20-30 knots.. so make your way over the season is here for sure!!
Also do you know if macapa/barra grande wind is lighter than guriu? Read about it in one place but havent found anything else
