Kitesurfing Andalucia

Postby Flyboy » Thu Apr 14, 2022 3:55 am

As I'm considering buying a property (possibly in Gaucin) I'm wondering about spots east of Tarifa (which would be a pretty long drive). What are the conditions like at Estepona, Sotogrande, Algeciras etc. ? Are there kite bans on any of these beaches? I would spend most of the time foiling so winds don't have to be nukin'. Some swell/waves would be nice though! :)

Maybe this comes a bit late but...

There are kitespots and a community all along the coast from Tarifa to Malaga and Granada: Algeciras, Sotogrande, Estepona, Marbella, Fuengirola, Málaga...

In Summer kiting is banned but there are spots allowed in Marbella and Malaga. I foil in Marbella in August every year. It´s usually thermal winds from E, I would say fairly consistent for foiling.
