Hi,
Does anybody have some recommendations for a trip end of December, originating from Las Vegas? Looking to Kitesurf and wingfoil. Preferably a warm place that preferably does not require a wetsuit and that is reasonably priced (flight and lodging). Not looking for nuking wind - 12kn and above are good.
Been thinking of Cabarete, Mexico, Columbia,Venezuela?
Unfortunatlely I don't speak any spanish and I am not familar with Mexico / Central /South America, but willing to give it a try.
Thanks in advance for advice.
Matt

Hi, we'll be in La Ventana from end of December and need US dollar in cash for our accommodation. We come from Germany and want to get dollars from the ATM. Do you know the fee for using the ATM and the limit? Saludos

Cabarete is usually quite good if 12 knots+ is your requirement. So many for me frustrating days there during winter time with 12-14 knots.
Should say Cabarete is often quite choppy. And the shore break is quite big at times so not always that easy to get out on a foil in 12 knots. People manage so definitely not impossible. And you will have almost the whole "lagoon" by yourself - which is quite cool.
If you are TTing I wouldn't recommend Cabarete that time of year. Very hit and miss with the wind. Villlage is OK, but not the most exciting place around - and it has changed from being very kite focuses to much more general tourism.
No problem getting around with English in Cabarete.

The ATMs in Mexico give Pesos, not dollars. You are better off getting dollars from a bank in Germany or figuring out a different way to pay. I suppose you could get pesos and offer to buy the dollars from people coming from the US, but that does not seem like a great plan.
