Punta Cana deep enough?

Postby Scratzch » Sun Jan 28, 2018 4:43 pm

Hey all, new to kiteforum but been kiting for 20 years. I'm just getting into foiling and and headed to Punta Cana. I'm wondering if I should pack my foil, but I've been reading thst there are lots of reefs, I just can't tell how shallow it is.

Does anyone know if it's foilable there? Staying at the Royalton...

Thx.

I have not been on a foilboard in front of the Royalton, but much of the area has reefs and they can be shallow. The tide makes a difference but I have run into reefs with a 90cm mast. I don't like shorter masts but used a 70cm mast when the tide was lower. Depending on the wind direction, I could usually find a track of deep enough water to stay in and have some fun.
