Strapless Backroll, Frontroll, Backspin or Frontspin?

Postby turfAndsurf » Thu Apr 12, 2018 5:20 am

Which strapless trick is easier to start with? Backroll, Frontroll, Backspin or Frontspin? I already can do a strapless jump.

I would say easiest is probably grabbed backroll followed by no-grab backroll.
What do you mean with backspin/fontspin?

You can also try what I call "wrong hand forward". Not sure if it's a common trick, but I came up with a way to do a sent kite jump without a transition, downloop, or crazy horse - starting and finishing the jump riding in the same direction. It helps to have a sliding stopper on your chicken loop line, but not mandatory.

Trick described while riding goofy foot (right foot forward, starboard etc.)

- with some speed, send your kite to 12,and at the same time with your right hand, grab the heel side rail as you lift off.
- as you near the peak of your jump, move your left hand on the left side of the bar, to the right side of the bar and redirect your kite forward.
- put your board under your feet, spot your landing and ride away.

Pic - not a textbook landing by any means, but the point is im landing with my left hand on the right side of the bar. Cheers and have fun !!

Thats the same trick. You dont have to go all Toby on the tricknames. Just call it a front rotation :thumb: And its really difficult without straps
I would suggest you start out with a grabbed backroll over a kicker, grabbing the board heelside with your front hand

front/back rolls are inverted tricks, if youre not inverted it's just a fs/bs 360
