UL material is all very well and I will probably go for this option if I upgrade to the V3 Chrono. However I'm not sure there is any claim about a better low end with the UL material - once the kite is flying it is going to have no more power than the standard version. The difference is that is will launch more easily, is less likely to fall out of the sky in a lull and is maybe a little more reactive.
Yeah, the better low end with UL kites is due to them allowing you to work them earlier in lighter winds without them stalling. In higher winds I don't think there is any difference.

I pulled the trigger on a Hyperlink Ultralight 9m with Bar that has 20+5m lines.
Please consider weighing the kite before unwrapping it. Regular cloth is 1764 grams.
I think you are going to be stoked with it.
Without bar and lines?
Exactly just the kite and the mixer.

Wow that is light! Do you know if the cloth is ripstop nylon or ripstop polyester?
Also just a consideration: it will fly great on 25m lines, but there is a 20% length difference between 25m and the 30m line I am using to get max low end.

I'm going to fly it on 25m lines on my surfboard to get used to it before foiling on it.
Have 3 m and 2 m extensions i can add.
After my long swim and rescue last weekend, I'm going to be very careful to not push the lowend.

I've had a couple sessions on my HL 9m ultra light now and all I can say is wow. I'm 65 kg and ride a mhl lift on a medium dwarf craft with 28m lines , it's not my first foil kite but the first on the hydrofoil . Is was out in 12kts of wind and the first thing I noticed is tons of power when I dove the kite , no need to loop it to get going , then while I was riding I could dump the power anywhere in the window very nice when I get going to fast , and I normally loop the kite (Rpm) while I'm going downwind but with the hyperlink it just drifts out in front of me. I think I could ride it in 10 kts.

Which Lift wings are you on? The 110?
I'm 75kg now ( dropped 3kg) and was told the HL 9 would replace my 12m North Mono. And I can say unequivocally that even at 78-80kg the Mono gets me going easily in 12 knots, and works good down to 10.
I'll get mine next week and am excited to try it.

I'm not sure what size the front wing is , It's the 2015 mhl osprey I think. About the only thing I don't like about the HL is the mess covering the intakes its a sand trap and why put a zipper on for deflating the kite when you could put a trap door flap like the other company does.

Today I picked up the kite and it was good 9m day on the Hf. I was itching the get out so I pumped my 9m Mono and went out for an hour.
Only had limited time today, after I came in a gave the kids some hotdogs, I wanted you try it on the beach.
I rigged the bar with 20 m lines.( it came un rigged as I ordered 20+5m lines).
My kite buddy has flown foil kites for years and he came down to help me. He's a flysurfer fan.
It was sketchy getting it up, but once in the air and filled it flew flawlessly. 20m lines felt right.
Later I discovered I'd rigged the rear lines on wrong knot, it was supposed to be on the middle knot, I had it on the last, so it was depowered.
I've flown lei kites for 16 years. What I noticed right away is the lack of static pull when kite not moving. Sheet in and out, no pull. As soon as I worked the kite it got lots of power.
Bar pressure is lower than my monos and core XR kites.
It's about as fast turning as my Mono 12, hard to tell.
Wind was 14 knots. I tried pulling front lines and running towards the kite at zenith. No way it's going to collapse. Drifts faster than i can run.
Same when kite is at 3 or 10.
Mono would have more problems.
So I'm looking forward to a water test.,

I am 100 kg and fly the Chrono V3 15m AND LOVE THIS KITE ON MY FOILBOARD. Thinking of the HL 12m UL for my next step down kite to be more versatile on my TT AND directional. My buddy is try ing to convince me on a Chrono V3 11m that has about the same wind range. At my weight I usually have to add 5 kits the the stated kites wind range.
I liked the comment about the low bar pressure. I also have my 8-10-12 OR Flites and need a kite to fill the gap.
Appreciate the comments and suggestions..
