I went with a Soul 12m and an Ozone race bar with 21m lines (exact same spec as Fysurfer use) for that exact reason - did not like the Flysurfer bar much at all! Apparently there is a new and improved one on the way from Flysurfer but it's not available yet.
I haven't even gotten close to making the Soul misbehave - not so much as the slightest of tip tucks. The only thing I do find is that once it is inflated its a bugger to pack away again - it really likes to keep its' shape! Deflate valves are small!
Where did you get your info on the new bar coming? My biggest complaint from FS has always been the bars. I'm hoping it comes out by summer time.

I demo'd the kite through Edge watersports in the UK. I mentioned that I didn't like the bar and would prefer to keep using an Ozone bar and lines. Steph Bridge, who runs the shop and many will have probably heard of, when I mentioned this, replied (and I quote):
'Yes, agree flysurfer bar not great but the new one is going to be great! The boys have proto bars but probably not ready for a while.'
So basically no idea but looks like a new bar is in the pipeline.

Watched a kiter ride a 12M FS Soul recently in 10 kts of wind on a TT. He weighed 86 kilos. Very impressive for a heavier rider in such light wind on a TT.

Are you sure about the wind?
I have a speed3 12m and I'm 60kg and need at least 12kn to plane on a directional.

FS Soul has great grunt like speed2 but 10kts are not enough for 86kg rider on tt. Maybe 12kts and doorXL can.

Anybody tried the Soul 12M on a 55 or 60cm bar? Does it makes serious difference in turning speed and looping compared to the 50 cm bar?

I use a 55cm Ozone bar which works fine. I can’t say I can tell an obvious difference between it and the FS (50cm) bar. Haven’t tried any sent loops yet but it loops really nicely for downloop transitions and the like.

Speed 3 is a completely different type of kite compared to these modern kites. The performance difference is night and day.
