Hello all,
I am a hydrofoiler from the North of England and have been foiling for 5 years.
Like many of you ( I have read so many threads !) I have been looking for a quick and easy way of attaching a Hydrofoil to most board that did not involve permanent and structural alterations. As I could not find anything that was suitable I set about designing something for my own use.........Hence the 'Remora' was born. I was so pleased with the results and with encouragement of my Foiling mates decided to produce the 'Remora' for others to enjoy.
So, here we go the 1st public showing (other than to my foiling buddies on our local beach).
Please take a look at my FaceBook page to see more of what the Remora is about.

Hope you like what you see.... Thanks very much Paul
ps Remora its the fish that sticks under Sharks incase you were wondering !

This is genius! I will seriously buy one. You have the potential to steal much of the market from the FoilMount.

That looks great! You should copy the promo videos for the Foilmount (where the guys are doing pull ups on the foil to show how strong the mount is).
I notice they currently market it as a travel companion. Fly over without a board. Buy something cheap at your destination and whack the mount onto it. Sell board on again after your trip. Your mount looks perfect for that.

How would it work on a Windfoil board?

I would assume that the mount would not care what board or foil was attached as long as the surface was suitable for suction.
I don't want to see stunt videos showing chin ups and stuff. It's too easy to edit them to show the mount in a good light.
It would be better to show several weeks or months of use with lots of freestyle and jumps and crashes and bashing into sandbars and stuff.

Hi folks, Thanks for the positive response.
Regarding windfoil. No reason it would not work on one. Further more the Remora would negate the need for a windfoil specific foil as you will be able to mount the Remora as far forward or back as required as long as the board doesn't have too pronounced concave or V etc at points of contact.
I have managed to wack the Remora off a couple of times on Sandbars as our local Bay is quite shallow in places. However, I consider this an advantage as it is possible to simply re-mount the Remora and carry on free of damage to Board and Foil. The Remora is used with a Leash, also the Remora unit adds considerable buoyancy and used with my Foil set up floats on the surface.
Currently I am in process of sorting out manufacture and hope to have 'Trio' available in a couple of months....Oh and a website as well !
Cheers Paul

Congratulations for designing such a nice product.
I also wanted to point out that your Facebook product description is not correct.
Looking forward for your website.
The 'Remora' is a suction foil mount that is compatible with all known HydroFoil Systems..
It should be sthg like:
The 'Remora' is a suction foil mount that is compatible with all known HydroFoil mast fitted with a plate, usually with 165x90mm screw spacing.
If not the case (KFbox, Deep Tuttle,...) you will need to buy a plate adapter.

As I do not use facebook for SO many reasons and did a search for at least a photo of your "idea" I can not comment more, but will say I doubt it greatly!

This idea is really interesting, for so many reasons and milestones ahead of the doubtful idea of "tape/adhesives" - clever design in many ways, large area support to distribute load and some flotation built into the plate, thumbs up

Suction cup lifters Exist in single, double, triple, quad....
The difficulty is to bring stiffness between the white cover and the 3 or 4 suction cups.
One triple pad: 150kg / 300lbs of vertical lift
Two dual pads = 2 x 100kg = 200kg / 400lbs of vertical lift
Still in doubt ?
