Hi there
I'm 70kg (without) and kitesurf since 5 years. I use a TT 138x44 and a Firewite Vader 5"1 23L.
With my Best Ts 14m I can start to drive with the Vader around 12knts, upwind with 13knts..
I have read alot here in the forum and have a dilemma between the 14.5 and 17Flite.
I want to have Fun with 10knts with the surfboard, 12knts with the twintip. And I would like to fly the kite till minimum 16knts.
The Vader isn't a big surfboard, so as I used once a North Juice 15m wit 11knts (with 24 and 28m lines)it wasn't enough for upwind.
Can you give me some advice?
Thanks alot
Dominic

If this helps, for reference I weigh 83 kilos. My minimum riding a 5'4" tomo vanguard is 11 knots. At 11 knots I can cruise on a 14.5 flite, but not do to much else without loosing ground. For 10 knots I think maybe a 17 would be better.

I weigh 200# and love my 17m. Probably a lot of overlap between your 14m TS and the 14.5

Depends on the individual too - I have lots of people onto the Flites here in my area. Example of 2 experienced and highly skilled guys....both smaller guys in the 150lb-160lb category, 1 guy loves his 17m, the other guy is intimidiated by the 17 and finds his 14.5 big enough. We are exchanging all kinds of boards as the wind gets lighter or stronger
