Hey Chuck! Come see us in Houston when it gets cold up there! I moved the mast back about 2 inches from where I ride the 558. So that may give you a starting point.
Thanks! I moved it forward more yesterday on 558. I have to get everything forward to make room for 633 637 arrivals! Would love to kite down there at some pt. You are always welcome in the great white north as well. We have been connecting with woo people on trips lately. Cool to meet people in person that you get to know through woo.
Very relevent topic for me at the moment,
I used my 637 race wing combination for the first time yesterday, just after using my 633 Onda wing, wind was mega light at 12 mph or 10 knts and I was using my 12 MTR Reo, after reading your advise to move the 637 wing back from the setting for the 588, I just kept my mast in the same position that I use for the 633 Onga, and gave it a try,
What an experience! The speed and the smoothness through the water was breathtaking, I quickly realised I needed to widen my stance a little and moved my back foot back to nearly touching the back strap,
At speed the foil was so pitch stable and so utterly smooth, I just wanted to go for miles which was a problem as the wind was so light with patchy areas of near no wind, so I had to behave and stay close to shore just in case,
after a few runs I realised I had very little front foot pressure to deal with at full speed, in fact so little it felt a little strange, is this a feature of the 637? Or should the wing be moved a bit more forward ?
I am thinking maybe I should, to give me more instant pop out of the water.and give me a lower stall speed for the turns.
But for now I think my only wings going forward will be the 633 Onda and the shockingly exciting 637 R combo.
Wow!
And it's so light!
In my opinion even for boosting big you don't want unusually high front foot pressure....as you go faster this gets harder to manage and you are worrying about keeping wing in the water vs speed and then big line pressure and a crisp wing send. A little "front up" bias is useful for air transitions but for optimal boosting I don't think you want to feel like you are holding the board down while gaining speed. Speed=energy and energy can be converted to height. A kick to send the wings out of the water is my preference vs "releasing" it from the water.

Some Outer Banks experience on 633

71cm mast in the sound is crazy fun. So connected and direct to the foil. I’m using new pocket style board from Dwarfcraft. I was fearing that 71 would be too limiting but in 1 foot wind swell it was super playful. Fantastic for learning tacks and turns, etc.

I had one ocean session on 91cm mast and it was unreal. 4 foot hatteras swell (so unorganized and rough) was soooo much fun. The 633 allows the right speed for playing on various wave/swell. Wind was 10-18 side on (a bit more onshore than desired) and I was on on 12m Ultra. I was able to slow the water speed so much while still on foil it was again unreal. Then when I wanted to repeat the triangle I would bear upwind and the thing would fly sooo fast. The 91 really shined at upwind angles and 633 allowed great speed. How can it allow both? That is beyond my understanding but I’ll take it!

My head is still in dream state from yesterday’s session!

I did not ride shore break. Maybe with 71? I was tempted to make the swap because the fun I had on 71 in the sound.

I'm still being tempted by you guys to by the 633 wing and fuselage setup for my 2016 fluente mast. Have few questions, as I ride 590 wing a lot now.
1. Will i get better low end? - meaning will foiling in 4-5ms wind be more fun or easier? ( i can get going in 5ms with my 9m hyperlink and the 590 wing.
2. My board has holes for the mast, so I can't move it, and don't want to be bothered. but I'm riding foothooks and the front one is about 50-80 mm in front of my front foot when I ride the 590. Will i need to remove and go strapless or move the front hook forward?

I will have 590 and 633 side by side next week. I fully agree with Gleiten.TV what they say about 590s low end (compared to SS Hoverglide I do come from) and hope that 633 is the light version of what they show and state for the new SS Space Skate. Their videos just speak for themselves.

I had 4 sessions on 590 before 633. I could not not ride the 633 then. The low end of foiling speed of 633 is lower than 590. It’s like a brisk walking speed, if that.

sold all my Moses wings!! and stabs.
Apart from the 633 and the 637race, and I had all the wings that Moses do, the 590 was the last one I let go, no comparison in light wind ability to the 633,
my sailing buddy who also has the 633 was out with me yesterday at New Brighton, wind was at seagulls fart strength, and we were the only ones out there,
(probably very few others out in the whole UK)
Now I am really getting used to the 633 I am realising that with a faster small kite I can get up at going at silly low wind speeds much easier than with a slower big kite, which has made me sell my 15mtr, and one of my 12mtr kites, yesterday I was very happy on my 10mtr Ozone Reo and lightweight groove pocket board, I know if I had been trying to use any of my previous wings it would have been game over.
We covered 15miles before the wind slowly died as the sun was getting low.

DON’T BELIEVE THE HYPE !

I am sorry but FOIL’s last post has pushed me to respond

I have known this guy a very long time through the windsurf days , to the twin tip days and now to foiling .

I regularily kite with him and in very marginal winds and now on quite a few occasions whilst he is sitting on the beach with his 633 and Ozone Reo I’m out Foiling on a Moses 550:325 combo with the new Flysurfer Soul 12m.

So please don’t believe everything that you read .
Yes the 633 is a good Foil and it gets going with less power from the kite , but ultimately you’re only good as your kite in really low winds !
