I started trying to get to sitting position while on strapless foil. First time I nailed switch of position and rode for a short bit before exploding (from laughing mostly). My further attempts were +/- Almost a random act and sometimes the timing was so off the foil started rising so fast it was nearly a collision with me.
I’m on Moses 633 and groove skate. Both are amazing.
What I’m trying to do is bring rear foot more forward while I bend down as low as possible and then the scary transfer. I put forward hand on board in front of front foot while simultaneously removing front foot to quickly sit on board. This ends up side saddle then if I last it’s not hard to bring leg over to straddle. Then wipe out.
I think I need to delay lifting weight off front foot until hand is on board, but my timing sucks for this to happen. Just more practice?
Any tips so I can minimize errors in that switch moment?
Thanks

hey,
here is how I do it...
I stand the same as I fly, squat deep as possible, front hand off the bar and reach down next to your hip.
in this moment you go deep with the foil and rise, when this happens, kick out booth feet and put front hand on board. for a split second, you only got your weight on your front hand, use this moment to place your body on the board in the right place. for small adjustment use the lower part of your leg (bend your knee)
I have not figured out the "standing up" part.

hope it helps
cheers

Thanks for help. I like that concept of having hand support at right moment to allow for adjustment of body. I’ll try tomorrow!

Watching these videos, looks like rodeo rides are easier than air jibes...

in my case for sure!
I managed sitting down on a fly, on my 3rd. or 4th attempt and after many hours of practice my flying jibe is still not at a satisfying rate...
(I mostly ride in very choppy or small waves)
cheers
