Really ... what? What's your point?
Where did I say that Peter Lynn is the only company that uses its own name for the brand?

You didn't.
But you used the "etc" to indicate that brands named after people weren't good names, didn't you?
Given how many companies are named after people, then if that's your criteria for rejecting a brand ... you might have a hard time.
Just an observation

FORD, FERRARI, MERCEDES BENZ, all of the super duper expensive clothing and cosmetics - they all come to my mind.
But north imho was a good name, much better than duotone. I also agree they should have gone for ION.

Yes. Remember, I work directly with the marketing department...
And it can happen that they North Sails comes with its own kites. Or maybe license to another brand.
But they need to go a long way to get where Duotone is.
Yeah but you are dealing with the Duotone marketing dept. and not North-mother-company.
There are a ton of people in the industry who could potentially just pick up the slack and start manufacturing kites under the North brand. I obviously do not know this will happen, but there is a potential...especially given North is already willing to license their name away.
If North Group decide to go into the kite business and use the North Sails logo then (imo) the sh1t will
really hit the B&M fan.
Perhaps with "N/K" and "North Kites" instead of "N/S" and "North Sails" in the logo ...
Second that (to keep the NS logo design and replace North Sails with North Kites), but not N/S with N/K! N/S in their logo stands for North and South directions of the compass...

ok duotone is not the best name , but i would have take the opportunity to make a " beautiful design " instead of an easy one .
The black picture is really unbelievable , it looks like someone did something wrong in the printing .
But i will still like the new rebel ( 4 lines ) like i like it now .
If range Rover made a ugly " Evoque " the brand was finished for sure and now they are selling like never before .
Because of the specs ???? No .... design my friends , we all choose for the most beautiful if we choose between candidates with the same caracterestics .

Rover thought the convertible Nissan Murano looked so good they wanted to make something that looked just as good too!
Everything they make looks like a Ford Explorer now!

Yup. And when you think about it, why wouldn't they with a brand name that's had more market share than any other company in the industry. Duotone could be fucked though. Even with the kite names under their umbrella. Impossible to predict consumer behaviour with something like brand loyalty and no doubt North will milk the "true north" thing from now until the end of time.

Well how the world turns.. Just as I thought I'd have to be that awful two tone name a little bird tells me there has been some massive recruitment of ex Neil Pryde, ex Cabrinha product guys as they seem to be going through some corporate cleansing at the hands of the bean counters, by no other than yes you've guessed it North Sails.
So will we be seeing North products that look like Pryde (Windsurfing) and or Cabrinha (Kites)? Then what's going to happen to Cabrinha? Word is they've been cut loose by the Pryde organisation and the main man has been spotted at demo's explaining everything going to be ok, it's just like the duotone thing with them as well. Either way, it aint over yet and there's going to be a pissing contest and the Duotone lot will have their work cut out.
Well the mags and advertising mediums will be doing well from it at least.
