Same! I find the larger surf wings much easier to control, and have fun on in high wind, and swell. I can slow down and play.
Funny that half a year ago I was still getting “those are beginner wings”, “you can go really slow on race wings too”. Can doesn’t mean should.
One perspective I was certainly missing was when someone brought up endless flat water of Italian lakes. Yeah, I’d get race wings to try that but where I ride a slower wing is fun.
Great thread guys - I am currently riding the Shinn mega k all the time - I have 4 foils and have most fun carving this one around on small waves. Does anyone have an opinion on the naish large? It would be great to be able to compare the lifts of all these foils available -I guess even dimensions would be helpful.

Naish L is a good one if you also want to surf it, no kite. If kite only, I’d recommend the medium Naish. It can handle more speed from the kite, while being just as fun as the Large.
up date - since I got the naish large - its pretty similar to the Shinn max K - really enjoying both - but I want to go bigger still and ditch the kite - Toby would a kite less forum be an oxymoron on kite forum ?

Naish has an XL now. It is backward compatible with the rest of your Naish set up.
Btw I also got the new Kite foil from Naish and that is a significant upgrade IMO.
Yeah, you need to be bigger to make the bigger wings work. So long as they're not sea anchors ...
Where are you guys getting your ideas from?

Exactly! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS GETTING THIS?.
I average over 20 km/hour without even trying and that includes starting/stopping as most of my jibes end up in the drink.... my wing is alive, far from sluggish.
I use a Liquid force Impulse with a 750mm mast

Something like this that was collapsable and could then be quickly deployed again - is still a kite. He's using a GoFoil Maliko foil.
