Well if 'true' means mediocre quality and design, I'll skip.
Mediocre quality? That's not what North is known for.

Oh yes it is: the north bars, more specifically the lines, have always been mediocre quality. Also Ion (which is nothing more then the accessories line of NKB) has lots of mediocre products.

ION wetsuits are not top quality but I've never had a problem with mine. Decent value for the price you pay. Agree that the build quality of North/Duotone bars is not what it could be.

In this case it means that somebody has screwed up the new brand's name and now are trying too hard.

You can thank their marketing department and dealer network for that.

As mentioned, the lines are crap, they still use sleeves, some bar parts are very prone to breaking, bridle lines are crap, and stitching on the kites -although neatly done- is all over the place in areas that shouldn't be weakened. And some of the contruction details are pretty mediocre too, mostly in the LE and near the battens. Had their share of quality issues too in the past, like any other brand.

You know, the kites are fine, it's not bad or anything, but certainly not amongst the best. Performance wise there's a better alternative for every model they have, and I also think that they have had fundamental design flaws for quite some time until not so long ago that they fixed by adding other stuff. They are getting better in that regard though. And they were very late to the game for adding a decent inflate, something like that should be inexcusable for such a big player. They're not the only ones though.

And guess what? They rip apart just as easy as most other kites when you got some pinholes.

And you pay top dollar for all that. Guess who's paying for that big marketing at the moment...

Quite well done video - sweet and short, and not quick jerk crap like so many others.
.
Kudos to whoever edited and filmed it.
.
Product wise, they're just trying to make a buck. Like the rest of us. So I give them a thumbs up for doing it in style.
.
Even though I have no idea if the product is as good as the promo.
.
Just one beef. Doo-oh-tone. Duotone.
.
This is pure fifties vacuum cleaner spin. Who was in charge of that naming decision?
.
or maybe it's so, oh, totally retro, dude, clue in people, hip da dip.
