This is one of the things that I do not enjoy with the foil…
How do you transfer your foil? (assuming you drive to the beach)
I remove the mast from the board, the fuselage from the mast and leave the wings on.
Fuse to mast is faster to connect than board to mast, next time I’ll try to see if/how the board with the mast fits in the car…
I’m thinking also of getting a snowboard roofrack and put it on assembled (What about salty water dropping on the roof of the car…)

I remove the fuse from the mast. Fold the rear seat, and the board with the mast still attached fits in the car. It's a Honda Jazz/Fit.

It barely fits, back wing over the front seat. No passengers possible and only works with a small board, did take me some time to figure out that this was even a possibility.

I remove the mast+fuselage assembly from the board.
Then everyone goes into their respective bag.
Board sideways over the back seats (the backs seats don't fold..), wet stuff in the boot, kites on the back seat. Mast+fuselage in last, with the mast pointing down.
Obviously there isn't much space for any passengers. Guess I could maybe liberate the front seat if is squeeze my towel bag in the back...

I take the board off then put the foil in the back. I've got a Voxy here and there's a CRV back home...but I gotta put a seat down to fit the boards in, so only room for 3 people.
Used to completely disassemble the LF foil and put it in the bag, but none of my other foils have I done that. The latest SUP foil is the biggest problem because the wing is so big

I've got a large p/u. It fits with room to spare but I still take it apart. Seems to get beat up more all together. Plus its amazing the amount of corrosion that takes place on the bolts and t nuts. SS, brass and aluminum plus salt water causes mayhem.

Just like Evan. I get out of the car, pull out my kite, put on my harness/lifejacket, pull out hydrofoil, walk to beach, unroll kite, unroll lines, ride away. 10 mins TOPS if I'm slow and careful.

Foil comes off the board, fuse comes off mast. Mast and fuse with wings on go into covers. slides into the very back of the vehicles without compromising seating. Mast plate onto board takes about a minute, and another for the two bolts for the fuse to the mast. For me its the sweet spot of small package, easy and safe storage/transport and ease of rigging.
Usual routine is to walk to the launch from the car (2 min one way) with two kites and a harness. Decide, pump, walk back with pump, assemble foil, dress, walk out, lay lines, launch and ride with nothing left at the launch that isn't locked in the car.
