Do all High Aspect Kites Control Like Buses?

Hi everyone. I was lucky enough to try a Core XR4. As promised this kite jumped like crazy but it felt so slow in the sky. I'm sure that I could adjust to the slowness but overall I don't think this kite is for me.
I have been looking to refresh my kites and had jumping/hangtime at the top of my list. Maybe I need to reconsider?

What size XR4 did you try? My experience with super high aspect kites (Apollo, Edge, foil kites) is that the smaller sizes (10 m and less) are quick enough for fast powered loops and crisp transitions. 12 m is borderline slow. Above 12 m, they tend to feel lethargic. I still like to use the larger sizes for boosts and hangtime, but don't expect them to loop like a Fuel.

If boosting/hangtime plus quick response and light feel even in bigger sizes is what you are after, then get a Flite. My 12m is amazingly responsive and fast turning for its size.

I was like you the first time. I tested the 13m O Edge, and then I tested the 12m O cat.

While the cat was more turny and playful, I wasn't able to jump and doing walks of shame, while with the edge I was able to jump and ride upwind with no problems.

So what kite you think I bought?

I used to own Cabrinha Velocity 14 and 18m. While the boosting and wind range on those kites were awesome, the bar pressure and the slow turning speed got old over time. I mostly ride my 13m Contra now but hung onto my 11m Velocity for windy days that have unstable wind. The slow turning speed and heavy bar pressure are two things that come with high aspect though I can't speak for the Core kite, I haven't flown it

You can do light bar pressure in high AR tubes but it requires long bridles and lots of pulleys...

So..I think you are saying that high aspect kites are slow and have lots of bar pressure? If I wanted a kite that was faster than the core with lighter bar pressure - what kites would you recommend.

Eleveight RS would be the way to go I'd say .

Or Cabrinha Switchblade, I use the 2018 model and bar pressure is honestly no issue at all . I think the older models where heavy pressure but it's changed a lot since then.

The switchblade boosts just amazingly and the jumps are so floaty , it's a solid kite
