If you want it on your head, wear a helmet. When I use it on my snowboard helmet I tether it to the helmet with a short piece of kite line just in case the mount rips off.

I would suggest you go the mouth mount route though, I use it for all my filming.

I've tried the Pro Standard Grill Mount and it's comfy but hangs a bit too low and lacks the ability to clip it on.

Now I use the official GoPro Bite Mount and it's great. It's not as comfy in the mouth but it's much higher up and the big feature is being able to securely clip it to my impact vest when I'm not using it. I use the official Vented Bike Helmet Mount wrapped around one of my impact vest's shoulder straps.

Virtually never, I always use a helmet mount with two cameras on the kite. The head mount falls off too easily for kiting. I wouldn't use a bite mount for a wide range of reasons but they seem to be popular currently.

Buy a mouth mount (what do you call it?). It is basically the bottom part of a snorkel (you have a comfortable thing to bite on and you can breath through your mouth) with a GoPro attachment point, and a necklace so you don't lose it.
If you just bite on the orange floater you can't breath through your mouth, and your jaw will quickly start hurting.

This picture tells you exactly why mouth mounts are so much better than helmet mounts, the water streaking. With a mouth mount you are always licking the lens then dunking it in the water to get crystal clear shots. With a helmet mount you will always end up with spots and streaks.

To each his own. I couldn't handle the distraction of holding that thing in my mouth particularly close in for shots. Water spotting is a problem at times but not always.
