I think Duotone is doing a great job with getting their new name to be common place. After the initial shock I'm accepting that it was really just a name change. I'll admit that I thought the new name was lame and the new kites ugly but both are growing on me. It's only been what, a couple of months since the launch and it feels fairly normal. Also, when one considers the changes at some of the other big brands a name change doesn't seem like all that big of a deal. Just my perspective but I'm guessing I'm not alone. Thanks.

Agreed...the name never really mattered to me. All I care about is how the kite performs. I can't wait until I get my new Duotone Rebel.

Not for me.
I grew up seeing the North sails on many sail boats, then the North windsurfing sails and when the North kites came out it was like 'this is my brand', but now, I don't see myself buying a Duotone. I know it's silly (or worse) to think that way, but that''s how I feel it.

From the outside looking in as I dont ride north or duotone but appears to me that the kites look pretty much the same just fairly different orange color schemes, saw a bunch of em here in NE brasil recently suppose for demo or dealer get together?looks like solid kites, quite frankly looks like a north kite with different name from what I saw really not a big deal, from what I saw appears like same designers and manufacture locale, name change sounds like big deal, but really in this case no biggy same old just different logo.

I'm excited about the Duotone/North situation because it effectively produced a new kite company in North. Since Duotone took all the kite models, production, etc. with them, North will basically have a new line of kites. Since Pat Goodman is designing their kites, and I've always really liked Cabrinha kites, I'm excited to see what models North rolls out in 2019.

I loved the North name, especially coming from a sailing background... I just cannot stand the new stupid name and the colour/designs are awful.

Considering how much effort and money they are pouring in "being present" and affirmig that "Rebel now by don-don is the same as Rebel by North" - they should have just sliced the prices and make the new old gear with the new stupid brand name - at least somewhat interesting for riders.
But as such they are nothing but being annoying and just plain trying too hard.

I actually sympathize with Boards and More. It was like the mob asking for "protection" money. They created the Rebel, Neo, Evo, Click Bar, etc, and North stood there with hand open, you know, money for nothing, (and maybe even chicks for free.) Duotone probably has taken the money they'd normally pay North for rights to their glourios and stodgy name and plowed into marketing for Duotone.
