We’ve always just used superglue, works great.

Does it really? I’ve heard of it being used but never thought this was widely practiced? Is it safe, all other things like cleaning etc being equal?

The only difference between super glue and durabond is a permit from the government. I work at a chemical plant and we make medical grade rubbing alcohol. We have special rules for making it. Most of it is just paperwork and tighter finish specs. But like anything else medical if you have the license for it you can charge a lot more money for it.

Yea, works great. Just a small drop to hold the edges close and heals with almost no scar. Close to magical. Depending on where we ride, there are days I have more superglue on my feet than actual skin,

The Dermbond is octyl-cyanoacrylate. It forms a more flexible glue layer and is nice to use. FDA explodes the cost and limits access. (25-40 dollars)
There is another dental cyanoacrylate = Isodent. Is more comparable in consistency to superglue in the store.
I like to use plain old superglue and sometimes use tape to reduce tension.

The most important thing in wound care is keeping it clean and cleaning it out before approximating the wound no matter how its done.

Even the hospital emergency room doctors at my local hospital in the U.S. are using glue on cuts, they did with a one inch cut across my temple. Put 3 layers of glue, they say an advantage is no holes from stitches.

That was careless getting cut the same way twice.
