Just got back from Germany and had an hour at Flag Beach on the 21m R1v2.
You mean V3?
Yes. Sorry. Typo. Thanks for pointing it out .

Thanks for the update!

12m lines on a 21m kite is pretty short. Is that your usual line length for 21m kites? The V3 must turn pretty tight if you're able to jibe on lines that short!

Does anybody have experience riding R1 V2/V3 in gusty continental winds? I'm looking for the size that gives me most of the low-end without sacrificing too much of the high-end to handle gusts. Last year I tried R1 V2 19m on 15m lines and it was simply too much when a sudden gust comes. I also have Chrono V3 13m UL that is fantastic for lightest winds freeriding, however, it's too small for fast downwind in light wind. So I believe 15m or 17m R1 V2/V3 should be good for gusty continental light wind freeracing? Any ideas?

Yes- That is my standard line length for the 21m2 for now, but I am thinking shorter (11m or 10m) might work as it turns fast enough now.

Here is a short video of 12m on the new 21m R1v3.

Great drone flying, as always. Have you found the upper limit of that 21m yet? When are you just so overpowered you have to come back to the beach?

Overpowered for racing eg. having to slow down on the upwind to hold the power: about 15 knots . Not being able to ride at all: 20 knots. That is on 12m lines.

Nice video and wonderful sights. Congratulations.
And at last a huge light black coloured kite for ballon effect in marginal wind : -)
What is the weight of the kite please ?

One Sweet and Powerful Kite!! The R1 V2 was hard for Ozone to Make better but the managed
to make the V3 even better. Having the Ozone Paragliding Design background really helps I'll bet...
And the help of Nico Parlier!
Sure been out and guys loving it!

Shorter lines for better gust handling on bigger kites for sure! :D

So many sizes to choose from too! :naughty:

Any more updates on R1V3 after more time with the kite? Is it as easy to fly as the V2?
